This is the main conclusion reached by the second study carried out by the Observatory of Environmental Sustainability of Residential Building, which also shows that 70% of the emission of greenhouse gases are a consequence of the processes of extraction and Steel and cement manufacturing.

For its part, the construction process itself generates 4.4% of the total greenhouse gases. From this company they have also made known that, in the EU environment, buildings are responsible for approximately 40% of energy consumption and 36% of CO2 emissions. Approximately 35% of buildings are over 50 years old and almost 75% of the real estate park is energy inefficient.
